Founder & Architect of Equity

Dr. Cynthia B. Brown, MSW

Dr. Cynthia B. Brown is the grief-informed visionary and movement architect behind The WayWesX17 Homeless Project—a justice-rooted, legacy-aware system of care founded in loving memory of her sons, Wesley Pearce and Waymond Patrick II. As Architect of Equity, she designs, transmits, and protects the WWX17 Blueprint: Justice. Love. Legacy. Her leadership transforms remembrance into infrastructure and grief into generational strategy.

Her doctoral research explored chronic homelessness from a paraprofessional perspective, grounding her advocacy in lived experience, mental health equity, and systemic redesign. She mentors emerging leaders, equips partners with modular tools for change, and speaks publicly on grief, justice, and movement-building—turning personal loss into public transformation.

Dr. Brown earned her Ph.D. in Multidisciplinary Human Services and holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California, where she received the Order of Arte’ Award. Her professional journey spans business, public administration, human resources, and a 20-year tenure at AT&T, where she was honored with multiple service and volunteer awards. Each chapter of her career informs the precision, compassion, and clarity she brings to WWX17’s architecture.

She co-authored the Amazon best-seller Face-Off: The Story Behind the Mask and is currently writing her second book. Her leadership is rooted in remembrance, relational care, and the living legacy of her son, Kristopher Xavier Brown, whose strength and witness carry the family’s story forward.

Her work has been featured on platforms like Copalana, and her movement continues to dismantle systemic barriers through grief-informed care, radical hospitality, and architectural justice. She directs WWX17’s social media strategy and narrative governance, ensuring that all public communication reflects the organization’s grief‑informed, justice‑rooted Blueprint.

She has been married to Elder Waymond Brown Sr. for over 30 years and is a proud Nana to two granddaughters.

Dr. Brown’s life’s work is a testament to the belief that systems can be designed to remember—and that legacy, when honored, becomes a blueprint for liberation.
